Обмотка многообмоточного трансформатора, номинальное напряжение которой является промежуточным между номинальными напряжениями обмоток высшего и низшего напряжений
(МЭС 421-03- 05).
* Обмотка, к которой при эксплуатации подводится активная мощность от источника питания в эксплуатации, называется первичной, а обмотка, от которой отводится активная мощность в цепь нагрузки, — вторичной. Эти термины не определяют, какая из обмоток имеет большее номинальное напряжение, и не должны применяться, за исключением контекста о направлении потока активной мощности
(МЭС 421-03-06 и МЭС 421-03-07).
Другие обмотки трансформатора, имеющие, как правило, меньшую номинальную мощность, чем вторичная, часто называют третичными обмотками
